HAPPY BIRTHDAY HELLBOY!!!

ImageSo what I really want today on all sacred of Hellboy birthdays was that they will FINALLY make the third movie that I have been waiting for, for like EVER! I love the pairing of Ron Perlman and Guillermo del Toro. I like them on their own, but there is always a special kind of magic that happens on screen when they collaborate. I would still love to see what The Hobbit would have looked like had it been directed by Guillermo, but I will never get to see that :(. Oh and look it’s George Bluth (Jeffrey Tambor) and Ollivander (John Hurt), if you don’t get those reference we can’t be friends! The part of Abe Sapien is well cast, the role was split between Doug Jones (who’s distinctive hands you may recognize from Pan’s Labyrinth, and if you haven’t seen it, well, what have you been doing with your life?) who does the grunt visual work and David Hyde Pierce, who’s voice work was uncredited.

I have never actually read the original comic books but I am thinking that I will add it to my list of things to look for at the upcoming Ottawa Comic Con (the list is getting long and the wait is not getting easier).

Love it/Hate it: He loves cats! I mean really the big red guy who is fated to destroy the world as we know it is a cat person! It doesn’t get much better then that. Not a big fan of Selma Blair, can’t really say why, just not my cup of tea.

Favorite Quote: Red means stop!

My Rating: 7 kittens out of 10.

Other Ratings: IMDB -6.8 stars out of 10. Rotten Tomatoes – 81%. Flixster – 65%. Entertainment Weekly – B. Of Sourcefed Trisha and Steve enjoyed it and since Steve has read the original comic series I will trust his judgement.

As always, have a geektastic day, see you next time!
